My Stunning, One-Of-A-Kind Facebook Marketplace Finds! | Thrifty Decor Chick

Early last year I shared my absolute favorite place to shop with you here. Facebook Marketplace is hands down the best spot to find unique home decor for prices that are hard to beat!

Since then, I’ve become a (self-proclaimed) expert at this type of shopping. I’ve added so many special finds to our home that I absolutely adore. I would take scrolling through the app over a store any day!

My furniture finds have been some of my best, but I think the smaller home decor items are my favorites. I’m always trying to keep our family history, places we love (and have visited) and our hobbies in mind when purchasing on Marketplace.

I want the things in our home to reflect us as a family whenever possible!

I LOVE looking for ceramic pieces on Facebook. This vintage Mexican Tonala teapot is a treasured find:

My father-in-law was born and raised near Mexico City, so anything that reminds us of my husband’s heritage is a great find in my mind. I adore the color and design of this painted teapot.

I loved the bright colors on these curved Turkish bowls and thought they would be perfect for small dips and dishes while entertaining:

Aren’t those stunning??

After doing some research, I found that these usually come in a bigger set with a star-shaped bowl that goes in the middle. Now I’m on the lookout for one that matches these!

I have a thing with peacocks…they are the most beautiful animal (other than our pets) that I’ve ever seen. I am in awe of their beauty! Over past year and a half I’ve found some pretty peacock finds on Facebook (say that three times fast):

Brass is my go-to when it comes to second-hand or vintage finds. I’m pulled to lamps and decor in this metal finish. This two arm French Horn style lamp is my latest find:

The hunter green lamp shade works perfectly in my office! I LOVE this piece. After purchasing it for $30, I did some research and found similar lamps online for hundreds of dollars!

These brass pheasants are another favorite find. I love how long they are:

This beautiful leather and brass telescope sits on the other side of our mantel. I found this one early on in my Facebook Marketplace journey:

My husband is an incredibly talented pianist, so I was excited to find this brass and marble House of Troy piano lamp a few months ago:

It is such a beautiful addition to our basement family room!

Vintage books are another great find on FB Marketplace. I especially love finding old books with floral and bird prints inside:

Have you noticed I have a thing with birds? My Dad is a huge bird lover as well, I definitely got that from him. That brass bird statue on the books above was another marketplace find…duh. 😂

If you’re looking for unique and meaningful artwork, I highly recommend checking out Marketplace. I shared a few of the art pieces we hung on our staircase gallery wall a few weeks ago:

I’m always on the lookout for interesting art from our favorite travel destinations as well as local favorites.

This “Pubs of Indianapolis” print is a recent find that I placed in our basement bar:

This was created years ago, but a few of our go-to spots are still around and included in the artwork. So fun!

I really enjoy artist Betty Boyle’s work and was thrilled when I found these original framed Indianapolis watercolors of hers:

I treasure this artwork and am so thankful we have some of her pieces!

And these teeny tiny hand painted florals are a sweet addition in our small foyer alcove:

I shared the makeover for that small space earlier this week if you missed it!

Of course I can’t forget the furniture finds! We don’t have a need for furniture very often, but I still keep my eyes pealed for lovely pieces.

This small dresser is the perfect spot for the printer and supplies in my office:

We bought it for $200 from a couple who was moving across the country for retirement. After we got it home I did some research and found it’s still available for purchase…for about $2000 more than we spent!

With some patience and consistency (and using those tips I mentioned), you can find quality furniture and decor that is so much more interesting than what can be purchased at big box stores.

Do you shop the Marketplace? Honestly, it’s my favorite part of Facebook! 🙂 I could take or leave most social media, but this is my happy place.
