Easy Grilled Pesto Chicken Wings

Easy Grilled Pesto Chicken Wings

These grilled pesto wings are, objectively, one of the best things to make on the grill all summer. Here’s the deal: crispy chicken wings, a little char from the grill, and a bright, basil pesto that comes together in about a minute in the blender. I know pesto wings sound like something you’d order out and never attempt at home, but this is genuinely one of the easiest recipes to make.

The wings get a coat of Overachiever seasoning before they hit the grill, and that’s it. Because Overachiever is doing the heavy lifting, the flavor is already built in before the pesto ever shows up. The blender does the rest, so these come together in no time.

Overachiever Seasoning

I add my signature spice blend to almost every savory dish I create. You’ll never want to run out of this one.

Make them for game day, make them for a cookout, or make them on a random weeknight because you decided wings for dinner is a completely acceptable life choice (it is). This makes enough for about 4 to 6 people as an appetizer, or 3 to 4 if wings are the whole dinner.

Every gathering has that one guest who quietly steals the show. This time, it’s the wings — given a good rubdown with Overachiever, a turn on a screaming-hot grill, and a toss in a punchy basil pesto. No garlic required, because Overachiever already brought the flavor.
  • Preheat the grill on high. In a large bowl, toss the wings with the avocado oil and Overachiever until evenly coated.

  • Once the grill is hot, add the wings skin side up to start. Cook, turning as needed, until cooked through and crisp.

  • While the wings cook, add all the pesto ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until a coarse pesto forms. Start with ¼ cup olive oil and add more until you reach the right consistency.

  • When the wings are done, transfer them to a bowl, add the pesto, and toss to coat. Serve warm.
